07/04/2025 Construction of the Hungarian terminal’s quay wall has begun
The development of the Adria Port terminal in the port of Trieste has commenced. The strategic investment aims to provide an efficient and competitive maritime gateway for Hungarian and Central European companies, thereby elevating Hungary’s and the region’s international logistics opportunities to a new level.
In the presence of Levente Magyar, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Edoardo Rixi, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, the first element of the Hungarian terminal’s quay wall was put in place on February 20, 2025.
A modern, multifunctional terminal is being built on a 32-hectare area, featuring a 650-meter quay and direct railway and road connections. The port is expected to commence operations in 2028.
Trieste already plays a key role in Hungarian and regional foreign trade, and the Adria Port investment, supported by the Italian government, further strengthens Trieste’s position as one of Central Europe’s most important logistics hubs.
